Wines from
La Clape

The Red
Wines
These are made from Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache to make
ample, full wines, woody and well balanced. They develop a
good rich nose, with complex aromas, red fruits and “ La
Garrigue”
They can be kept for more than 4 years and take on
fascinating notes.
The Rose
Wines
Often they have a nose of the forest- the pine trees. More
often than not, they are made using the ‘ saignée”
technique, the wines are supple and well-rounded, with
fruit and floral aromas.
The White
Wines
Generally the varieties are Marsanne, Roussanne and Rolle,
that bring to the wine complex supplementary aromas. The
other varieties, giving a pale golden colour and floral
aromas are the Malvoisie and Grenache Blanc.
The
Climate
The massif of La Clape is a dry and hard climate full of
wind and sun. If La Clape is one of the sunniest areas in
France ( up to 3000 hours of sunshine/year), it owes it to
the 13 winds that cross its’ soils.
With the 3 elements of Sun, Wind and Soil, they combine to
produce unique styled wines that are well worth seeking
out.
